Jonathan Postal, who has been in the industry for 15 years, is the founder and CEO at WATTMORE and lives in Colorado.

Why is clean energy important to you? Climate change is massive threat to our way of life and clean energy paired with energy storage is the best solution to deliver 24/7 clean energy.

What’s your proudest accomplishment in clean energy? I still drive around and look at all my projects knowing that in 2007/08 we started something real with my first company. Solar and clean energy are here to stay.

What did you do before entering clean energy? Financial Services - Investment Advisory

When were you first introduced to clean energy? Solar Project for Science Class in the 6th grade.

What should more people know about your role? Clean Energy work is a constant challenge (regulatory, technology, finance, bankability, entrenched incumbent fossil fuels) but the battles are worth it.

How does clean energy impact your community? We have created a market for solar and soon energy storage in Colorado and the nation with my work — distributed solar, community solar and now energy storage.

What does clean energy mean to you and your family? My family supports my work because climate change will impact my family, my grandkids and the future of our planet.

Why should Congress invest in clean energy jobs, not fossil fuel jobs? The transition to clean energy is the greatest economic engine and opportunity we will have in the next century. We must decarbonize every sector of the economy from food production to transportation, communications, housing, workplace and that will be a giant economic boom.
