Hydrogen Hubs in Gulf & Midwest
The Department of Energy has funded Gulf Coast and Midwest Hydrogen Hubs with $22M+ each to kick off clean hydrogen projects. The hubs will drive industrial decarbonization, create over 57,000 jobs, and tap into renewable energy, natural gas, and carbon capture tech.
Shelbyville Powers Up with 1,572 Jobs
Canadian Solar's new $712M battery plant in Shelbyville, KY, will create nearly 1,600 jobs, producing lithium-ion batteries for utility-scale energy storage. Expected to open in 2025, it's Kentucky's largest-ever project for Shelby County and bolsters the state’s EV battery leadership
Electrovaya Brings 250 Jobs to Jamestown
Electrovaya’s new lithium-ion battery gigafactory in Jamestown, NY, is set to open in 2025, reaching full capacity by 2026. Supported by state incentives and low-cost hydropower, the $5M facility will produce advanced ceramic cells, fueling exports and strengthening U.S. supply chains.
Tribes Harness Sun for Clean Energy
Standing Rock’s solar apprenticeship program is training tribal members in solar installation, fostering job creation and energy independence. With support from federal funds, tribal groups aim to overcome barriers to clean energy by prioritizing community ownership and workforce development.
