Clean Energy Spotlight: Michael Skelly

This week’s #CleanEnergySpotlight is a #Grid expert and entrepreneur who works to strengthen America’s next-generation energy infrastructure. Meet Michael Skelly, CEO and Founder of Grid United in Houston, Texas.

Skelly is helping to deliver low-cost, domestically-produced energy to businesses and homeowners nationwide by managing long-distance transmission line projects. Grid United focuses on the early stage development of high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission, connecting regional grids to increase resiliency and reliability.

As Grid United modernizes the U.S.’ power infrastructure, they’re also creating good-paying clean energy jobs, helping to expand our manufacturing capabilities.

Before founding Grid United in 2021, Skelly founded Clean Line Energy which developed some of the longest transmission lines in the U.S. within the last 50 years. Prior to this, Skelly led the growth of Horizon Wind Energy, which powered nearly a million American homes.

Skelly believes that “there’s a whole lot of reasons to invest in the grid, and they range from more energy options, more choices, better resilience,” he said at the CE4A webinar, “Powering America: Building Our Electric Grid for the 21st Century.”

Congratulations, Michael, and thank you for working to deliver affordable #RenewableEnergy to families and businesses nationwide.
