Zen Center of Denver Ribbon Cutting

Representatives from the Zen Center, Re-Volv, and NREL celebrate the ribbon cutting for the center’s new solar panels installation.

The Zen Center of Denver marked the commissioning of their new 9.7 kW solar installation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.

“I am thrilled to have helped the Zen Center go solar. The cost savings will be invested into our mission, like providing mindfulness classes to the community, and there are environmental and health benefits from reducing emissions from electricity use. The solar project is a beautiful example of the Zen practice of taking Right Action to reduce suffering in the world,” said Zen Center of Denver board member, Joyce McLaren.

This solar system is designed to cover 100% of their electricity needs and is projected to save them nearly $80,000 in electricity costs over the next 20 years — or 15% on their monthly electricity bill, compared to buying power from the utility. This project was made possible through Re-Volv's zero-down financing for community-serving nonprofits and through connections at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL).
