Adrienne Pierce, who has been in the industry for 10 years, is the CEO of New Sun Road.

Why is clean energy important to you? It is a critical part of building a sustainable future, improving quality of living and mitigating climate change.

What’s your proudest accomplishment in clean energy? We remotely operate fleets of microgrids so that renewable energy can serve rural communities safely and reliably removing the need for transmission lines that are an ignition risk in wildfire prone areas. We offer clean power for rural EV charging and provide energy and internet access to remote tribal communities.

What did you do prior to working in clean energy? Worked in the semiconductor sector. We don’t need more computers.

How did you first get introduced to clean energy? Through my dad’s Popular Mechanics magazines in 1977.

What do you wish more people knew about the clean energy industry? Clean energy takes all kinds of skills. And the folks in this industry are great.

What does your job mean to you and your family? A positive contribution to the future.

How is clean energy helping your community / state? The air is cleaner. It helps mitigate wildfires. Provides independent energy access.

Why should congress invest in clean energy jobs? Carbon should stay in the ground. We can be smarter training and investing in a clean energy economy that rebuilds our infrastructure for a more sustainable future and mitigates climate change.
